Introduction
Have
you ever wondered what it is like to see an immense boat sink before
your very eyes, ever wondered what the people on the titanic must of
surely been thinking as they slowly slumbered beneath the surface of the
sea would they remeniss of past experiences as they knew there was no
escape. This is why I am here to inform you all about how it must have
been like on that loaded liner that fateful night of 15 April 1912.
Body
Can
you imagine it? The screams and horrors of the fearful passengers as
they sank, how they must have been thinking as they knew they could do
nothing. but the worst thing of all is to be alive but all your family
dead or injured. Did you know that there were 2223 people on that boat
but more than half of the people on the boat died in fact 1517 people
died and only 705 people came back alive. Many more could have been
saved if all the lifeboats had been filled completely one lifeboat could
hold around forty but only about 17 jumped on.
A
very weird thing is that the band played very bravely as they sank down
into the ocean but they were also playing Nearer my god to thee. Sadly
after panicking for about two hours they had almost sunk until 10
minutes had past almost the whole boat sunk but within another two minor
minutes the brilliant boat had snapped in half and sank. All of this
had happened because the captain decided to ignore the icebergs and also
because the loaded liners brother the SS
Californian
had ignored the Titanic’s distress signals, until finally other boats
had already gone there and only then had they taken notice of their
distress signals so an iceberg had done its job and killed more than
1000 when they smashed into the iceberg no one was told until the matter
got really out of hand.
Did
you actually know that two dogs were among the survivors and that the
titanic was a mail boat. This was found out because Titanic R.M.S stands
for royal mail steamer and the funny thing is is that no mail was
actually found on the boat. Also that the titanic was as tall and longer
than the empire state building and that in fact that every 24 hours it
used 14000 gallons of water and that it carried 900 tons of baggage and
freight. But the most shocking fact of all is that there were actually
13 couples on the titanic celebrating their honeymoons and the most
scariest fact is that 14 years before the Titanic a man called Morgan
Robinson wrote a book which is just about exactly like Titanic even the
design was the same.
Conclusion
All
I can say is that this may be possibly the worst disaster in history
ever to happen to man and this will never be forgotten as people
struggled and strived right to the very end to survive most died but
some did survive to the very end and lived to tell the story thank you.
This is record of my learning in the time I was at Tamaki Intermediate School. This blog is now closed for new posts and comments. However, you are most welcome to read it.

Achieved Excellence
Achieved Excellence
It had all happened on a cold rainy morning when the spectacular speech finals were being held at the amazing Tamaki Intermediate and man was it nerve racking having everyone looking at you. But!! before we got into anything special the fantastic finalists for speeches had to practice on stage. Even still was it super scary and it was only about nine noble people who made it to finals so while we were in the huge hall we practiced for approximately half an hour then finally the rest of the super school had come in the hall.
Almost instantly I thought the time had come for us to say our speeches luckily enough I was not first but sadly I was actually second first was Pearl Niu. Meanwhile we were given a while to settle down and get ready while the talkative teachers were talking. It turned out that they were talking so long that almost the whole school ended up talking but anyway the time had come.
They had finally amazingly announced that it was time for Pearl to do her speech and her speech was I something I would never have guessed her doing. She seemed to have remained calm only to have a few hiccups here and there then her class stood up and started to sing a song
Then finally it was my turn and immediately my mouth turned as dry as a desert and as I walked up the stairs it got even dryer and as I was saying my speech I was looking around and I could tell by the expressions on the judges faces that I was doing really well. Then at the end of my spectacular speech I did a mistake and went down the stairs when I was actually meant to stay on stage and start the soft song for my class. Finally afterward while everyone was saying their speeches Pearl who was next to me was saying that I was going to win. Then almost suddenly the speeches had finished and Mr Horan had announced that they would release the answers for the winners of the speeches after morning tea at the maths test.
After morning tea I literally had beautiful butterflies in my stomach because I actually knew I had a chance of winning the trophy for speeches and what was even more exciting is that it could be my first trophy ever. Then Mr said that the fantastic finalists had to come up. First we received a chocolate bar for being finalists and then Mr announced the Whaia Korero award for intense Irasa Lafi. Finally came the speech trophy itself in fourth was Ili in third was Pearl who I thought was alright in second was Irasa Lafi and then the time had come at this moment I could hear people whispering my name and then Mike the man and said the best word ever Nathaniel. At this moment I was extremely satisfied with myself and knew that I had achieved excellence and I wished that that day would never have ended.
At the end of that day I found myself exhausted and completely satisfied with myself and I knew I was going to keep trying to win more spectacular trophies and I hope to find me winning a lot more trophies preferably speech trophies. From this I believe that I can forward myself to
